There was only one King, and that was Elvis. In the same breath, there was only one Prince and that was PRINCE.
Being an 80’s person, Prince’s movie “Purple Rain” helped spearhead his music and talents. Many successful singers have also starred in some classic movies. Elvis did many movies, as well as the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and even The Spice Girls had a go at it (I had to throw that in).
Movies further advertise the artist and thus attract more attention to them.
Of the people from Gen X, who didn’t buy the movie soundtrack of “Purple Rain” back in 1984?
With over 25 million copies sold, the album was certified 13X Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Its’ total sales stand at 25 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time.

I absolutely loved his falsetto and high-pitched screams. He had many sounds including funk, R&B, rock, new wave, soul, synth-pop, pop, jazz, and hip hop. He often played most or all instruments on his recordings.

Prince wrote, he sang, he performed, he acted, he danced. He did the splits so easily; I was a hockey goalie all my life, if only I could do the splits like Prince did!
